  • In the year 2023, Mediterranean Beach Games returned to Greece. The 3rd edition was held from 9 to 16 September 2023 in Heraklion with the participation of 768 athletes, 453 male and 315 female.

    There were 13 sports in the program: Beach Handball, Beach Soccer, Finswimming, Beach Volleyball, Beach Wrestling, Rowing Beach Sprint, 3X3 Basketball, Karate Beach Kata, Beach Tennis, Canoe Ocean Racing, Triathle, Open Water Swimming, Kiteboarding

    Italy was first in the medal table  with 42 medals in total, 13 gold, 16 silver and 13 bronze. Greece was second with 13 gold, 10 silver and 10 bronze, 33 in toatal, while Spain won a total of 20 medals (12 gold, 2 silver, 6 bronze) and finished 3rd in the overall table.
